LUMINARY
Let life be art! Floor standing lamps exist in likely every home in America. The Luminary redesigns the floor lamp in a fusion of sculpture and utility.
Nature is the best designer. Sunlight filtering through leaves inspired the decision to use light to reveal color in glass.

Casting a statue from concrete would be exceptionally heavy. Weight limitations inspired experimentation with a different casting method: fabric casting.

The Luminary combines a fabric-cast concrete arch with tumbled recycled glass. It incorporates a preexisting light fixture, rewired.
